gage(twelve months).

dear little gage. one year already. i don't even know where to start. i keep thinking back to a year ago from today. we drove quickly in the dark to the hospital, barely making it there. you came so fast. but even faster, we fell in love with you. thinking back to last year, minute by minute, it all comes back to me. suddenly i'm holding back tears thinking about how fortunate we are to have a healthy you; your umbilical cord was so tiny, its amazing how God fulfilled every little nutrient to you while you lived in my tummy. i thank God for you every single day you, Gage.

just as boldly as you were born, you are that today. you are quickly becoming a toddler. you are fearless. you climb and when you fall, you seem unaffected. ready to climb it again. you want to be just like you're older brother. ready to run and play and cause all sorts of trouble. but you're overwhelmingly sweet, i'll always always remember this about you. you love to be cuddled, particularly by me. the other day i rocked you to sleep. i really should have been downstairs working on your birthday party details but i couldn't seem to put you down. rocked back and forth, back and forth for a good hour, your soft fuzzy head resting on my lips.

you're my youngest, but you're my first and only gage. even with everything i've learned about parenting (and myself) from you're older brother, you've still taught me something new everyday. you've brought so much love and sunshine into our family this past year, we are so very blessed to be your parents.

this is going to be one great year ahead of us, i can feel it.

oops.

well, it's friday. i said i'd be caught up on our blog. whoops. not even close.

much of our week has looked like this...
way behind. piles everywhere, little projects here and there. can you tell we have two sippy cup drinkers and i'm too lazy to wash them? being out of town takes a toll, ready to be back in the swing of things.

...currently our kitchen chairs are outside. gage has learned how to climb on them and then onto the table. its making me loose my mind, every two seconds he' s up there. 12-15 months are not my favorite age, there is hardly any reasoning. but he did learn how to sign "more" and "all done." its the cutest.

...lane is currently decorating his firetruck with our address labels. i should go stop him. but its a moment of silence. we've stopped watching any tv with him, he can't handle it. every time the tv is on, afterwards he throws a temper tantrum. no matter what. his new favorite phrase this week "thats real awesome"

...have a great weekend...we are celebrating gage. can you believe he is going to be ONE on sunday? we have a one and a two year old. thats fun to say, one and two.

maternity photo shoot.

there is hardly anything more beautiful than a pregnant lady...well, that is, until you see the little newborn baby:) being pregnant is so amazing...without even saying anything, people can see there is a huge miracle happening. so overwhelming, so sweet, and renee...she might just be one of the prettiest expectant mother out there. gorgeous!!
for quite some time know i've had the wanting to start taking pictures "professionally". not really sure i have what it takes but its fun to play around and dream:), my poor family is obligated to be my models. we had great fun....there are so many to choose from, she's just glowing!

renee's baby shower

last week we traveled to omaha for renee's baby shower. dana and i had been talking about her shower since our august visit...when renee & tom told us they were expecting:) we were so happy it wasn't negative ten out, we threw renee's little bundle an 'ice cream parlor' shower.

dana's kiddos were the life of the party. mine were in the basement, sleeping their sickness (double ear infection, croup, and strep) away.


addison was SO happy.

lane did wake up...and wasn't super happy. he only wanted "bamma" (gramma)

i bribed him to be happy with sweets...lots of sweets.

did you think we disappeared? we haven't completely, just have been doing other things. we'll be back...next week...with some really, really, cute posts. until then, here's some pics from a few weeks back...

vance is typically in charge of bath time. every now and then i 'have to' so i jumped at the chance to snap some pictures. typically i don't photoshop all my pictures but these ones looked so dreamy like this.

lane's favorite farmer toy...because he has a moustache. (this toy sorta creeps me out) side note...he often confuses mustache and mustang. so often times he says, "ford mustache" instead of "ford mustang" we laugh every time.

oh lane. he's proud of his stickers...butterflies and barbies. can you tell his sticker collection was my sticker collection when i was a kid? i always waited to save them till the perfect time...now is the time.



between us and his bestest buddy being sick, they didn't see each other for quite some time. they sent each other video messages. lane watched it over and over and over. "more sam movie!!"

it always seems so wrong waking up a sleeping baby. but this just shows...little gage, the little character.

snow pants. they learn at an early age they are really made for going fast down the stairs.

lane always sits of daddy's lap during breakfast on the weekends. he was sweet enough to share a little daddy time with gage. gage looooved the sugary cereal:)

one day two or three, i lost track, of staying in snow days. my friend amy braved the conditions and brought lunch and her boys over. she may have saved my sanity. is it summer yet?
