oh so happy!

we had such a good weekend! instead of trying to completely survive as parents we are finally settling into a new routine that we love!

saturday night after lane fell asleep vance and i were so excited to have some time to watch a movie. although 30 minutes into the movie we were both crashed and couldn't stay awake...you can tell we're new parents.

sunday night was awesome. thanks to mom and dad ferry, we were able to have our first evening out without little baby. we went to the Olympic swim trials and saw 2 world records being broken!! being somewhat fanatic about the Olympics, we figured that may have been the closest we'll ever get to going. how cool is it to cheer for the USA?! cant wait till 08-08-08!


after our fun evening out we finished watching the movie from the night before. this time lane enjoyed watching it as much as we did. not sure tv is something we really want him to be fascinated by...oh well for now, he's too cute to tell otherwise.

we have officially become sleep deprived parents. the other night i heard lane starting to move around in his crib. i woke vance up because i was already calming down a "baby" in our bed. vance got out of bed, grabbed his alarm clock, and headed to lane's room. i then woke up with all the blankets in my arms patting the bottom of them, rocking back and forth. what baby did i think i had if i knew lane was in his room? after realizing I was out of it, went into lane's room and vance asks, "why did i grab my alarm clock?" we were both doing things in our sleep. we have gone crazy. another incident happened last night...lane had been crying for 4 hours straight with no apparent reason. vance asked him, "do you just like to hear yourself cry?" he then gave us the biggest smile. he obviously has us wrapped around his little finger!
