sweet lane.

having an almost three year old is hard.
really hard.
he makes a decision about something and thats the way it is.
last night i asked if he wanted spaghetti or quesadillas for supper.
he said not quesodillas.
i don't know why i asked b/c i made quesadillas.
he refused to eat a single bite.
in fact he threw it on the floor.
and threw a full out tantrum.
i should have known.
he told me he didn't want them.
during bed time we were talking about how we have to discipline him so he'll learn right & wrong.
thats what the Bible says parents are to do.
and children are to obey their parents.
his little bottom lip started to quiver.
"Jesus sad with me?"
our hearts melted.
"dear jesus. my weal weal sowwy"
he soaks up anything we read in his "my Jesus book."
at night he wants to keep the page with baby Jesus open so he can see Jesus all night long.
everyday out of the blue he says "my love Jesus, so much."
and talks about how he wants to go see Jesus.
"my go see Jesus weal soon, weal weal fast."
"my climb ladder to Jesus?"
yes, two/three year olds are difficult.
but there can't be a sweeter time.
he is precious.
he loves to no end.
multiple times an hour he runs up for a hug and says, "my love you...so much."
in the car, he wants to hold hands.
he loves to be close.
he watches every move we make
and hears everything we say.
getting ready for Easter i skimmed through parts of the book, treasuring God in our traditions, by noel piper...
"we can only give what we already have. if God's words are not in our hearts and souls, then we can't give them to anyone else. if we don't love God ourselves, then we can't live out his love for others to see and experience."
my (almost) three year old learns from me.
but (maybe) better yet, i'm learning daily from him.
his childlike never ceases to amaze.
out of the blue with my arms spread wide, i want to shout "my love Jesus so much and He loves me so much!"
not caring what the people around me at the grocery store think.
i want my love for Jesus to be simple.

God has trusted me with this little man.
i want to do it well.

thats my king.

i can't ever comprehend and fully ever understand what Christ did for us on the cross.
its so much.
since becoming a mom, the reality of Jesus's death and God giving his one and only son for our shortcomings gives me a new sort of ache.
none of us can imagine the agony God went through watching His son upon the cross.
His son suffered for me.
nothing consumes me with humility than the redemptive power in the cross.
there is joy in the cross.
HE lives.
all so we can lived loved.
(later there will be pics of the fluffy easter stuff...cute boys in ties, jelly beans, easter eggs)

last saturday.

last saturday we had a fun filled day...
our church had their annual egg drop, they fly in over a feild and drop eggs from a helicopter. to say it was fun is an understatement...it was a blast. anything that makes our boys happy is instant fun for us. they have different age group feilds set up, so "some" (maybe 1,000) eggs were already out for the 2-4 year olds...waiting for the helicopter...
oh gage spots it!

GO!

hanging out after the drop going through their candy. gage and i shared two boxes of nerds:)

lane's first taste of anything sour...

bag full of goodies!
later that day we headed down to the springs for maya's third birthday party. jenni did such a great job on everything, it was all so cute!! ...thanks for the fun time, your family is beautiful!
where is lane?
there he is!
the birthday girl enjoying a cupcake of her own.

sweet norah!

oh how i love the weekends...there just aren't enough saturdays in the week!
