lane's plain boring walls are starting to look a little brighter thanks to my lack of art skills.

i prayed for God to bring me a friend and the same day i get a phone call that molly was moving to colorado...little did i know God would bring a friend i've known since the first day of preschool. we've had so much fun catching up without hundreds of miles between us. charlie and molly were even kind enough to put their parenting skills to test while vance and i went out to eat. one evening we all enjoyed icecream, lane seriously attacked molly for hers.

spring showers.

memorial day we enjoyed as a family by going to the top of "the rock" in castle rock and then went for a drive in the mountains. fun exploring, at intersections we'd say left or right and see what happened.

lane has a new favorite toy. he has not put down his toothbrush since we let him hold last friday. it goes e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e with us. it's a constant reminder to me that yes, i am 4 months overdue for a cleaning, i still have 5 cavaties that need to be filled, and i can't chew on the left side of my mouth. what am i suppose to do?...take him to the dentist with me during the day? ha, that would be a scene!

someone stated to take steps!!

lane is fine with me taking pictures till he sees the camera lens cap on the floor and he has to put the cap on. everytime.




he's growing up so fast but there are moments where he lets me pretend he's still a baby. i crave these moments!

sigh.

yesterday:
lane falls asleep in the car 15 minutes before we get home
pull into the driveway and his eyes are wide open
strikes against taking anymore of a nap
6:30p try to calm a bad diaper rash, why its there, i don't know
7:15p lane sound asleep for the night
worry he'll wake in the wee hours
8:30p grilled cheese for dinner.
watch basketball with my husband. yet to become denver nugget fans.
1a vance and i just now go to bed, we stay up so late why?
i dream i am a professional photographer and there are prarie dogs in our house.
today:
5:45a the crying starts
he probably just heard vance's alarm, he'll go back to sleep
5:50a nope, still crying
explosive diaper...everywhere
rubbing his eyes, tired, we're all tired
won't eat, won't sleep, just wants to sit on my lap, love
6a go outside with dad as he leaves for work.
neighbor sees me in my robe, yikes.
wish i was a morning person, absolutely gorgeous. lane smiles and reaches for the chirping birds.
make coffee, hate making coffee. wish starbucks delivered. have yet to drink any of it.
7a get so much done in the morning. i need to become a morning person.

enjoy the fact i get to stay home with my little man. sigh, happiness.

it was a great celebration! lane is one loved(spoiled) kid. both sets of grandparents were here and we all loved every minute of it!

my parents watched lane while vance and i went to a movie. it was our first movie in a long long time and yes, we ate a large popcorn...edit that, i ate a large popcorn. lane had so much fun on his first outting without mom and/or dad, dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in colorado and a walk. mom said she thought lane might not have known that we even left, ah gee thanks lane!

a mix of being told to not play in the toliet, not open up the dishwasher, and not bite to mom's toes turned into a big old mess. life's rough.

colorado springs:
we got together with jenni and the adorable maya for a playdate. jenni and i lots of laughs at our little babes. good times!




swimming:
vance went to lane's swimming class the other day. lane's ALL smiles in the pool. he looooves being the in water...splash, kick, jump.
