i'm not one for water. in fact, the ocean is scary (my family would insert picture of me scuba diving in 1 foot of water) but there is something about this shoreline that i find to be addicting.

crazy kiddo.

the other night lane had been sleeping in my arms for some time. went and put him down and a few minutes later heard some movement in his room but didn't think anything of it. 5 or so minutes later i peaked in his room and found him sound asleep, standing up holding on to his crib! i had to take a picture, it was a risk i was willing to take. he didn't even wake up with the bright flash! after this picture, i gently pulled away his little fingers from the crib and put him down. crazy kiddo. everyday he does something new to make us laugh!

the other night lane had been sleeping soundly for an hour or so. as soon as we layed down to get some sleep ourselves...this is what we saw.

well i'm bored in the hotel room so i'll post some pics. the past 3 days we have looked at 20+ houses and definitely seen more no's than maybe's. it has been nuts, but lane has been so great. the hardest thing about looking at houses for lane is that we won't let him crawl on all the gross carpets. hotel living has been interesting. we find ourselves going on walks in the hallways and have given up on being so germophobic with lane rolling about on the floor. (ew.) i have probably taken advantage of the hotel's complimentary coffee but it's nice not to make it or buy it. we have a little microwave and stove but it's kind of a downer to eat in a hotel room so we have gotten fast food for dinner every night this week. (another ew.) tonight we have decided to splurge and go to a sit down dinner...we can't wait! ok, enough for now...i'm sure they'll be more pics coming soon.

*lane's eye is so much better! thank you for your prayers. within 24 hours of posting that, the skin around it was almost all healed up. (so happy!) it's still gooey but that is normal for him. :)

riding on our shoulders is lane's new favorite thing. he gets so excited, he instantly starts bouncing and smiling the second he is taller than us. we barely have to hold on to him because he holds on pretty dang tight to our hair. ouch!
