we just got back from a week and half long vacation in nebraska. man, it's hard to come back after such great times! how cool is it that we got to see BOTH sides of the family in ONE week? SO FUN! we were able to spend 4th of july weekend in omaha with the ferry side, including jeff and dana! then go to atkinson for andrea's wedding with the reimer side. what a treat! serious good times.

4th of july.

didn't take too many pictures on independance day for two reasons.
1. my best friend broke. yes, i'm referring to the camera. sad day. my parents were gracious enough to let me borrow theirs for the rest of our vacation. now we just have to wait and see what canon says, argh!
2. lane HATED fireworks. deep fear, couldn't handle it. last year he slept in my arms. poor guy, maybe next year?

dj & andrea's wedding was awesome! such a fun theme...peacock feathers. it was gorgeous, andrea was gorgeous! what a beautiful bride. dj & andrea were so happy, so in love!

on our way back to colorado we made a stop to see graamy squier. lane is her 22nd great grandchild. wow! lane was such a goof when we were there. he kept making his excited face over and over, our constant laughter probably had something to do with that. he loved the hose outside, it was tears pulling him away from it. we're glad we got to stop, it helped make an 9 hour drive seem much, much faster!

saturday lane had such a fun day! after his morning nap we went to the pool and splashed around. lane was actually scarred to be in the baby pool, he clung on tight to vance's legs the whole time. silly boy! after his afternoon nap, he was delighted to find dad playing with the hose, washing the car. daddy's little helper!


after they were done, lane got to drive the car in the garage.

5:30-6:30 is by far the hardest part of the day. lane is hungry and i'm hungry. we're both ready for dad to be home. he wants to be held but i feel the need to make dinner and get the house (&myself) back together before vance gets home. lots of time i try to get dinner mostly made during lane's afternoon nap but there are days that just doesn't happen. i needed a fix...fast, and then i remembered "the baby carrier!" perfect! he was happy being with me and i was happy to make dinner:) plus, he got to sample a lot of dinner. yum!

...did i mention 25lbs of baby gets heavy?
