home.

we're back from another weekend visit home. as always, it felt oh so good. looking back on the pictures i took, i shake my head, i didn't take pictuers of SO many important things....shelby and lane playing , all the cousins hanging out, being with family, instead totally random pics. at the time, i guess i just sat back and enjoyed time with everyone...and to be honest, it felt great. but hey, awesome news....camera is back and fixed!

15 months.

last friday lane had is 15 month check up. how is that even possible? my little baby isn't that old! but oh he is and he is willing to let us know everyday. everyday he learns something new and just has this "air" about him as being older.
...
he grew THREE inches in THREE months! no wonder none of his pants from last spring come close to even fitting. they are all a few inches off the ground. he is 97% for height and 52% for weight. long and lean just like his papa. oh yeah, he takes after his mama's big head at a whooping 90% for his age. :)
...
the appointment went well, lane was proud to show the doctor a few tricks and sat still the whole time she examined him. she said he is getting ALL four of his one year molars in RIGHT NOW. no wonder we've had some tough moments lately (i want to blame the melt downs on molars). he got one vaccine...the mmr. we choose not to do the other ones for a few reasons and the dr supported our decision.
...
lane and i treated ourselves to jamba juice (he even got his own baby smoothie) and jamba juice oatmeal...my favorite ever. little did we know, this was the highlight of our day/weekend.
...
when lane woke up from his nap friday he was BURNING UP! SO HOT! the dr said he was having a bad reaction to the vaccine. i put him in a cool bath tub and hoped that would take the edge off. this was just the start to the 48hours of temperatures from 103 to 104 (give or take both ways) lane was miserable. i know its just a fever but it was still so scary. the dr said if it goes higher than 104, go to the emergency room. so...we headed there, talking to the dr on the phone late at night. she said, you don't have to go right then just DON'T let it get to 105. so we sat all night fearing that he was getting more and more hot. do you go when its 104.7 or when it is 105? these questions played through our minds over and over. thankfully, we never had to go to the e.r.
...
we loved how cuddly lane was. loved how much he needed us. all he wanted to do was sit on our laps, be held, sleep in our arms, sleep in between us. but we knew this wasn't lane. this wasn't our little boy. we desperately wanted our little guy back and today (monday) he woke up and ate and played and smiled and we love him SO much!

so.much.fun.

another full week! life is busy but SO good. multiple times i look at lane and my heart overflows with love. the other day watching him sleep tears came to my eyes...

i feel like some days(today) are full of trials, ups and downs, some days i read a kids bible more than my own, we wonder why we live away from any family, wonder what the next year will bring, but we can't deny Gods truths...
HE has given US "infinitely more" than we could ever ask or hope!

aunt renee came last weekend and i didn't take ANY pictures! how horrible is that!? we loved having her here. lane liked having her chase him around the kitchen island and loved that she would let him play with her cell phone. "Yy" upload your pictures renee so i can have them:)

castle rock fair

this guy bit me.

lane played on the tractors for a good 20 minutes. so. much. fun. a farm boy at heart.

my favorite snack. cotton candy!

waiting for the parade to start.

he sat DIRECTLY in a muddy puddle!

at first he wasn't too happy with the loud sounds...

but then they started to throw out candy and he got SO excited. he acted like he knew what it was. he's never had any candy, much less sugar, that day he doubled all he had ever had...he was a mess!

castle rock rodeo.

making a mess with flour.

signing for "more." more food! more drink! more snacks! more flour?

loves piggyback rides!

lane and i went to a mops playgroup at an awesome park. he loved the shallow water pools but hated the water fountains.

best part of it all...he slept the whole way home and then FOUR hours when we got inside.

grandpa and grandma ferry had a long layover so lane and i went to surprise them. highlight of my week! lane grabbed on and hugged grandma right away. it was a fun afternoon of smiling at lane; watching him show off his mad running skills and how he can now drink out of a straw. diet coke and ice tea please! we are all SO excited to go home NEXT week!

finally.

finally updating. every time i've sat down to put some new pictures up, something else always seems to need my attention. this past week has been busy doing lots. everyday we've had something we've had to do or had to go, but thinking back on the week, i can't even remember what they are. lane has been SO much fun lately. everyday is full of laughs. this past week he's been on a napping strike, which can cause for some long days but it hasn't seemed to phase his smiles.

we are continuing with our camera troubles. the camera came back from the manufacturer, not working! my parents let us borrow their camera so i put one of our lenses on it and have been grateful that we've been able to use it. last week, lane climbed on top of the hutch (where i keep the camera) and pulled it down...breaking our lens. so...so far this summer we've broken our camera and two lenses. not super cool or super cheap. back to the point and shoot camera for us! sad sad sad.

we went to go play in the sprinklers. i put lane in a swim diaper, crocs, floppy hat, and then he accessorized with my belt. hah. vance says he looks like "little bo peep."

silly boy...

a new way to play with the activity table...

and this...

attempts for a family picture...
