halloween.

two little penguins!

thanks to uncle ryan, lane has a liking to penguins so when we saw this outfit, he HAD to be one of his favorite toys. he LOVED it!

we had such a fun evening. sam and lane were TOTALLY into trick or treating. we figured they wouldn't care, we'd be carrying them door to door, and the whole thing would kinda go down hill...nope, these boys had it all figured out. SO CUTE! little monkey and penguin. plus, watching your kids have fun is just fun. who knew halloween was so rewarding for parents? smiles and candy, thanks lane!

when we moved to colorado i prayed for God to bring me (and lane!) a friend. little did i know, two doors down, sam and amy had just moved here too. sam and lane totally hit it off so in turn, amy and i have too:) they have since moved a few miles away but that hasn't stopped any of the fun! amy has even been sweet enough to watch lane during my dr appts, lane loves their new house...it has a cabinet just for kids to crawl in:) the other day, we braved the flu&cold season with purell in hand and went to chuck-e-cheese. the boys (seriously) went CRAZY! sam and lane LOVED all the lights and sounds. too.much.fun!

we decided to be even more adventurous and take the boys out to eat...old chicago, yum! and to a bounce house! since amy and i are both pregnant (her christmas, me valentines) we couldn't bounce so mike and vance joined in on the fun. we had such a good time watching them run around...and daddy's chasing them. everyone left very tired!

snow day.

last wednesday we had our first 'stay inside all day SNOW day.' i've been not so secretly dreading this for a while, if lane is getting antsy, we just go outside and its a whole new day. thankfully it went good because this week we are suppose to have our first BIG winter storm. we had lots of fun doing all sorts of different things, somehow i didn't take a picture of the highlight of lane's day...a fort made out of the card table and blankets. maybe build it again this week.

washing our hands...one of his favorite things to do. he puts the step stool there by himself, pulls up his sleeves, turns on the water, and then...plays....and talks to himself.

helping daddy shovel. bundling him up, i realized he needs a snow suit. he has on 2 pair of pants, a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt, fleece jacket, vest, stocking cap, gloves, 2 pairs of socks, and he still came in cold and wet.

flashback.

"update blog" has been on the to do list for a few days now. LOTS of cute pictures but unfortunately last night i came down with the flu. so, nothing has gotten done today. vance and lane just went to get chicken noodle soup from chic-fil-a. yum yum!!

these pictures caught my eye and just had to share. remember lane sleeping on the couch a few weeks ago? flashback to when he was 2 months. sigh! makes me miss those baby days.

then i saw this picture and thought "whoa, i look so young!" a few more months till the new baby will fall asleep on me during tummy time:) both these pictures made me laugh because of the ever constant burp rag that followed lane, oh the days!
