everydays.

here are a whole lot of pictures of our normal days, mostly at home.

we've recently had a seating mix-up. gage graduated to the highchair.
and lane was demoted to sitting in the bumbo but graduated to sitting at the table.
random pictures from supper one evening. lane ate chocolate before supper, (yep, we're those parents) gage ate nearly a whole avocado, and then we sang songs.

vance always gets after me for how dangerously close i leave my water glasses on the edge of the counter. one day i looked back at where my glass was and seriously amazed myself.
making a mess...together.

lane's new favorite breakfast. oatmeal. he gets the instant stuff...it's my favorite too:)

gage is LOVING baby food. he is such a great eater. vance and i were talking earlier how we used to dread giving lane baby food. was it as really as frustrating as we remember it being or do we just have bigger frustrations now than feeding a baby food? at any rate, baby food isn't horrible after all. so far i've made all the food and it saves tons.of.money! another thing thats saves money is that NONE of it goes to waste...lane eats whatever is left. he loves baby food. i guess thats what happens when you have 2 babies in less than 2 years, the oldest one isn't old enough to think that stuff is gross.

lazy bones. seriously, look at them. watching thomas the train. i can't believe i've succumbed to letting him(lane) watch it, but you've got to admit...10 minutes of quiet time for mama sure is nice.

and lane, he can be a pickle but he is so compassionate...even when something is wrong with thomas. and that's when i realized maybe i should turn off the t.v., he's getting emotionally attached with a train.
one day i looked over and lane had put the toy box on top of gage. they were both getting such a kick out of it. lane was smacking the box and gage was loving that he wasn't getting hit directly.

playing.
remember a few weeks ago i said i was looking forward to one thing...well, here it is, getting together with my dear friend amy and our boys. we ventured out to a park in denver and of course, the boys kept us on our toes and kept us smiling.
...this outing almost didn't happen. once i loaded the boys all up in the car, i started it up and nothing. my car was dead as can be. amy was nice enough to pile everyone into her car. 4 car seats, 2 strollers, and lots of laughs.

we've had another play date since then. as always, a great time.

refusing to admit summer is ending...eating all the fresh fruit we can get our hands on.

i distinctly remember thinking two things when i was little that i would do when i had kids. one was always letting my kids spend the night at their grandparents house if they wanted too. i used to love sleeping over at grandpa jimmy and grandma hazel's house b/c grandpa would always go get kolaches from benson bakery. even when they moved to elkhorn he still drove to get them. the other thing i promised myself was that i would leave cookie dough on the beaters for my kids to eat. i'm trying...
whoa big boy.

love, love, looove him.

seriously, the slowest eater ever. table is cleared, dishes are done, and he's still eating.
then he sees the camera and feels the need to show me his food. such a boy.
poor gage had a fever so we camped out on the couch all night long.
the next day after staying up with fevering gage was i was exhausted. i mentioned something on facebook how i wish starbucks would deliver. my wish came true. there was a knock on our door and a friend from church, amanda, was standing there with this. TOTALLY made my day.
proof the lane does love gage. sharing his cookie with him.
when i was pregnant with lane i ate spaghetti o's nearly every lunch. i gave him some for the first time and without a doubt, he ate every little 'o'. ...aunt grandma kathy, the whole time eating them he said "uh oh, sghetti o" while pointing to the reimer family calendar. you are now our spaghetti o lady:)

gage(six months).

oh my little baby, how can it be? 6 months already. you are now older than the fingers on one of my hands. why do i think of these things? well, because so many times someone asks as i'm frantically trying to eat lunch (before you grab it out of my hands) and i just hold up how many months you are on my fingers. soon, i'll be out of fingers. you are getting so big boy on me. i often times say, "oh yeah, when gage was a baby.." but you still are and will forever(well until the next baby is born) be the baby in this house. your brother refuses to say your name. you are "baby" to him and unfortunately we end up calling you "baby" as well.
you have developed quite a little person about yourself. it still amazes me that you are your own unique being. you are not your brother. you are you and we sure are loving getting to know YOU.
at 6 months you are 18lbs,12oz, 29" long. you are quote and quote a big boy. in the high 90th percentile for both. you're wearing a size 4 diapers and sometimes i wonder if they could be getting small.

that past few weeks you've started to get mobile. you will do just about anything to get what is catching your attention. rolling, reaching, pulling, circles. the other day we caught you on your hands and knees. we got so excited but inside i frooze. you are only 6 months old!! you want to keep up with your brother so bad. soon, very soon you will be crawling.

you are such a little lover boy. one thing i so love about you is your cuddliness. i will never ever forget that about you gage. you love to be held. you love to sleep right next to me. and you would all night long if i'd let you sleep in our bed...and some nights you do.you've started reaching up for us when you're on the ground and want to be held. melt. another favorite quality is your sleepy cuddles, you dig your head into my shoulder looking for a comfortable spot to rest. just recently i've noticed this and it's my sign that yes, you are ready to sleep and won't fight it.

this month we had you dedicated to the Lord at our church. as we were standing up there, being prayed over as a family, i felt so proud. so proud to call you MY baby. but you're not mine at all. you are God's amazing creation. you are on loan to me, which is an overwhelming thought. this isn't about me, but God must think i'm not all bad b/c he has given me two amazing treasures to watch over. lane and YOU. i am so grateful for the opportunity to cherish and love on you. i pray everyday that the Lord will become real to you, that you will know God and love Him with all your heart and He will use YOU for His glory.
you are special gage neal.
happy half a year.
love, mama.

...you and me, as i was writing this. i've got mad one handed typing skills:)
