grandma gwen.

i'll start with this picture because this basically sums up all of last week. grandma love.
grandma gwen (well, lane calls her bamma. sometimes it sorta sounds like obama but whatvever:)) came to help out while vance was gone for the week. i became nonexistent in lane's world, he was giddy to have bamma here. (i didn't take him to the bathroom for a whole week, he wanted only my mom's help, fine with me!) at any rate, it was a fantastic week. all three of us loved having her here!!

waiting for bamma at the airport.

skyping aunt dana and addie&owen.
we took bamma on a hike. we went on a loop right near our house, its a little challenging at first but we were up for the challenge.
...going back for the camera lens cap.

gage ate his way through the hike. every tree he'd grab a handful of leaves.

picnicking after the hike. ...look at gage's little hands, oh, those dimples!
at the local yarn/fabric store.

grandma FUN!

football!! ...he LOVES football these days.
rise and shine.
shopped out.
playing with sweet gagey boy.

my mom has a new hobby...making hats. she does an amazing job!! you'll have to check out their blog to see some others.

bampa came for a quick (maybe) 24hours. ooooh boy, was lane happy to see him. all week lane kept saying "bampa, come, bit" yes lane, bampa is coming in a little bit. he loooves his grandpas.

such smiles to bampa. happiness.
thanks for coming mom, we love you!

barn dance.

oh, another week and i'm somehow way behind on "blogging." last week vance was out of town and my mom came to my rescue to help with the kiddos. so.much.fun. there will be LOTS of pictures coming but for now lets fast forward to this past weekend. our church had a "barn dance" and let me tell ya, what a GREAT time! everyone there had smiles on their faces the whole time. a really great night.
...that night vance and i decided two things. 1. events (like this) are much harder with kids. how do you go through a buffet line holding 3 bowls of chili and a baby? even more, how do you eat it? our meal went much like this... oops, forgot spoons. ...uh oh, lane is dripping beans all over himself...ok gage, lets try to hold you while i eat chili...ah, i plopped a big spoonful of chili on your head ...no, gage, don't grab my bowl...yep, you did and spilt chili all over your dad...hey vance, can you go get us something to drink and we need more napkins. 2. events (like this) are not nearly as much fun without kids. who knew potato sacks were so much fun? and dirt throwing, a hit. staying up way past bedtimes was totally worth it.

i had by far the best looking cowboy there. woowee vance, and holding my babies, double woowee.

these next 2 pictures are my two most favorite pictures of lane lately. so him, all boy. dirt. boots. trying not to smile.

yep, he did it. he rode the mechanical bull and loved it. "hold tiiight" he kept saying. he looks so focused in these pictures, cracks me up.

potato sack fun.

lane loving all the horses.

lane really wanted to dance but unfortunately he's a little like his dada (and mama for that matter) and a little too timid.

but gage did get down w/ one of the ladies. he's hard to spot but he's in there:)

we tried, we really tried to get a family picture, but it just didn't work.

...we left the ranch it was held at and have been trying to figure out a way to move there. hmm, wonder if they need a ranch hand? i can cook?
