february.

february came & went and i obviously i didn't do much blogging. i have little time to be sitting here now so we'll get straight to pictures...

oh, and despite what pictures show, we DO leave the house...one of these days i'll bring the camera out & about.

lane adores his sister. he always refers to her as "MY baby sister." its pretty stinken cute.

this scene happens EVERY week in our home. since when did our kids think it was ok to throw food everywhere?!? i turn my back to two seconds and the house is destroyed. (i suppose taking pictures and laughing sends mix messages about me not wanting them to do it...)
here they had scattered chocolate cheerios everywhere and were making them "fly" with the wings from their little airplanes. boys, i tell ya!

fashion statement. he pretty much insists on dressing himself everyday. i'm too lazy to fight it or maybe there are just bigger battles in the day? either way...he often looks like quite the sight.

sick days. february was filly with LOTS of stay at home sick days. so...we make forts.

working on our valentine party decorations. (which actually happened on the 17th due to a sick mom on the 14th...) lane got the can opener b/c he said it makes the hearts look like pie crusts...

don't look too closely at our decorations. it's called...do what you can do with a baby in your arms:) the boys didn't care...they knew it was special & loved it!

pretending that this kitchen island is their bunk beds. soon after this picture we had all the pillows, blankets, and hundred different stuffed animals they insist on sleeping with down in the kitchen with us.

dear gage, 2 years.

dear gage,

today you turned two. two. two? how is that possible? today it seems that you understand what year you are going in to and wanted to live up to "terrible twos" oh dear child, you made me tired today. i often say it, right now you are equal parts JOY and equal parts CHAOS. this morning the whining, crying, disobedience nearly set me over the edge but then you came hoping into the bathroom while i was getting ready saying "ribbit, ribbit, ribbit" i smiled at you and you said "froggie" with a great big smile. and thats exactly how life happens everyday, you melt me.

you climb, jump, dig, run harder than any other two year old i know. you are constantly going fast. or your in your own little world, like at the grocery store, it takes you 10 minutes to get down an isle b/c you stop and look at every item asking "home?" like, "do we have this at home?" or "do we need to take this home?" you talk, talk, talk. one of my all time favorites right now is watching you as your little mind processes putting words together while your telling us something. i hope to never forget that.

you love, adore, look up to lane. you love him like nothing else, its so sweet. you want to do everything like him. you often study the way he's standing, sitting, laying and do your best to do exactly what he's doing. you guys will giggle and giggle for hours if i let you in your bedroom, you think he's just to silliest. and with all that big brother love, you also know how to push his buttons. you know exactly what irritates him.

you have the best giggle. people always say that. its contagious. and you are funny. so funny. you think your funny, which makes you even funnier. one of your favorite things to do lately is pretend everything is a hat just for us to give you a response. (you put spaghetti, jello, books, on your head and say "hat?") you LOVE people. always giving kisses & hugs. you want to hold & burp logan. you want to call daddy and papa every minute of the day, it is SO cute!

we love the joy you've brought to our family and we love the way God made you. you are so special, i tell you every morning. you are fun, funny, and full of joy. i pray that spunk always stays. you are you and we love YOU! i want to bottle up this age...i can't get enough of you.

...you have the biggest sweet tooth. you take after me, sorry about that buddy.

...you sleep with doggie, puppy, and red bear

...you will still take a good nap if you aren't too busy messing around with your brother. if we're in the car anytime after 12 noon you fall asleep instantly

...you are SO good at picking up toys

...you want to do everything on your own, "my do it" (getting into your car seat, highchair, putting your shoes on, getting into your bed, etc)

...you go potty of the toilet everyday

...you don't really like tv besides boz the bear or thomas

...your feet are the stinkiest feet in the house

...your eyelashes are the longest of anyone i've seen

...your favorite song is "party rock." you can't help yourself.

...you are very, very cuddly after nap time. we normally rock for a good 5 minutes.

...you are very aware of someone's ouchies, often kissing our boo boos.

...you say "welcome" instead of "thank you" someday you'll get those straight.

you weigh 10lbs 12 oz. you've come along way from your little not quite 7lb birth but you are still itty bitty, your older brothers were right at 14 lbs at 2 months.

for the past 3 nights you have slept through the night. THANK YOU sweetheart! i typically "dream feed" you around 11pm and then you wake around 5. we're considering that a full nights sleep.

you are wearing 0-3 month clothes b/c you are so long but they are so wide on you, long & lean like your dad.

you don't look like a newborn anymore, very sad about that one.

you try so so sooo hard to get your little thumb all day and all night long. your fist is constantly in your mouth sucking on your thumb thats tucked inside your hand. i'm not so sure we want you to actually be a thumb sucker.

you will sleep anywhere. i finally put you in your crib for nap time and you've done great.

you love your car seat and fall asleep instantly in the car.

you are 50/50 on your pacifier. and you are very picky which one during the 50% you will take one.

you still have some tummy issues. since your one month post you've only had 3 or 4 diapers dirty diapers. (until today...today you have had 6 dirty diapers, what is going on!?)

we had a scary week with you last week. you caught the virus we've all had and spiked 103 fever during the middle of the night. we called the dr and took you to the emergency room. they were able to get it down and found a very bad ear infection. breaks our heart, you are too little to not feel good.

even though you haven't felt good that hasn't stopped the smiles. you are the happiest girl! you make our world so bright!!

your eyelashes have really come in. can't wait to see if you'll have lane's super thick/dark lashes or gage's super long ones or if you'll have your own little style.

your dad and i say "oh she's so cute" to each other at least 20 times a day.

we still can't get over your pinkness.

a post of her own.

i've said it countless times and i'll say it again, i have the best family and married into the best family. we are blessed with amazing families, something we don't take lightly. my mom came to colorado a few weeks back while vance was out of town and then stayed and took care of us after surgery. we NEEDED her, like really, we couldn't have done it without her. and its still true for me just as much as it was when i was ten, when you don't feel good all you want is your mama. unfortunately, i didn't take ANY pictures while she was here. my camera sat while i was sitting on the couch. bummer! following mom's stay, renee & the ever darling penny came to take care of our family too. renee has clocked in some serious "take care of the reimer family" hours this year. she stayed for nearly 2 weeks after logan was born and then came back to take care of us again after surgery. my heart is overwhelmed with thankfulness thinking of her, not only did she take care of her penny but she took care of us 5 and our home. they deserve a post of their own. but probably above all of that, spending time with mom, renee, & penny means more than anything. like, i said, best family ever.
