labor day hike.

the perfect morning out.   just minutes from our back door.   fresh air, smiles, giggles, & still back home for naps.   my kind of day :)

school has started!

we knew it was coming all summer, for years actually…first grade!!   we've been in the routine for 4 weeks now and we are still adjusting to it.   all day school.   one friend said, "it normally takes us till about october to be ok with school starting again."  sooo….3, 4 more weeks & we should be good.  ;)

 he didn't want me to bring in my "big camera" so thats where i stopped.  silly boy.

 but…cell phone pics continued.   he was super excited that his teacher had an "up" display.

lane was nervous.   we were nervous.    many times that morning lane asked if we would pray with him.   vance praying one last time with him before we said goodbye.   ((hello amazing daddy!))

he was pumped he had his own cubby in his table.   

and his first homework assignment.   he worked hard on it !

and one awesome thing about school is that we have had weekly lunch dates together.   its always a highlight going in to see him!!

 then…just in time for our tears to clear up, gage was starting preschool!!!

he has LOVED it!! and who wouldn't?! preschool is the happiest place ever.    he is going to the same place as lane did with the same teachers.  he was so excited and we were excited for him.   (logan cried over & over, "my classroom??"  she wants to be big like her brothers.)

in his classroom, we know all the kids besides 2.   it is basically his sunday school class meeting in a different building.  

 man, i love that boy!!!

hiatus.

excuse the silence around here.  we've been busy.   super busy.   first grade starting, preschool starting, going to work, packing lunches, bible study reading, being parents, growing a baby, soaking up the end of the summer sun, hair upon hair clients, playing baby dolls, running errands, early bedtimes, 1st grade homework(!?), very early alarm clocks, berenstein bear book reading, woman retreat decorating, driving back & worth between school.  and those are just some of the every days :)

this summer the boys both did track.   lane loves to play RUN, which is just running, so we knew this was going to be a hit with him.   and because and was doing it, gage wanted to do it.

lining up.   gage is so cute racing because he smiles and waves the whole time he runs.   he is all about being cheered on.   so…short fast races were what he excelled at.  just GO!  :)
