to continue with the "so far today..."

just went to check on lane during his afternoon nap and he took off his diaper! so he's laying there naked!

so far today.

lane woke up at 9:45 for the day, about the time he normally goes down for his morning nap. he's sleeping now(1:30) and this is the time he normally goes down for his afternoon nap. who knows what kind of schedule that kid is on?!

we were outside playing this morning and lane decided to eat an ant. and then cried about it.

this morning lane was playing in our bedroom and yelling out the open window next to the bed. (one of his favorite things to do...really.) i was in the bathroom a few feet away getting ready. he started giggling to no end so i go over and lean down to play with him when i notice a bottle of nail polish and a few books on the deck outside. what?! he had pushed out the screen and was throwing stuff my from night stand out the window. oh lane, you scare me.

lane always chooses one "item" that he will take everywhere with him for the day (toothbrush, whisk, marker, thermometer) today...the computer mouse. he's sleeping with it right now.

vance has been working hard the past couple days putting a sprinkler system in the backyard. lane couldn't help but be right in the middle of it, he just had to help his daddy. he got SO muddy. it was everywhere on/in him. if he could talk i think he'd say that it was "a pretty cool day."

nebraska.

last week we went to omaha to see friends, family, and feel "home" again. we have desperately missed hot&humid, we only got a few days of it but it felt wonderful! i was able to go see some friends and their sweet new babies, ran errands in familiar places, and left church wishing we would be there again next week and the next and the next. vance went and checked out our house, i couldn't go, i still think of our house as our home...it was too much for me to handle. vance said all his hard work in the yard last summer paid off and the yard looks great, that our house still smells like our home but it is very lonely. we're so thankful for the 3 years we lived there but ready for it to sell. pray that it sells quickly! vance was only able to come friday-sunday and lane&i came back to colorado tuesday afternoon. i was so sad to leave renee, tom, dad, and mom but i was ready to hug my husband. we're quickly realizes home is wherever we are TOGETHER.

the most perfect day for the zoo. 75 and sunny, gorgeous! we had a lot of fun, kinda stressful time there. lane didn't go to sleep till 12:30am(flew into omaha late) the night before and then didn't take a nap all day so he was sorta on edge. we couldn't stop the stroller, keep moving, keep lane happy. his most favorite part...the petting zoo. we all got a good laugh out of the goat that kept head butting lane in the diaper, even he thought it was fun:)

vance and lane went swimming in the pool...or hot tub. the pool was a little chilly, as soon as lane got to the side he climbed out and went all the way to the back door. brr. hot tubing is definitley more his style.





eating dinner outside is the definition of summer for the ferry family. willie nelson in the background, chlorine hair, corn on the cob.

when you ask lane to make his excited face, this is what he does. what a goof, where did he learn this?!

ALL week lane was attached to gramma. forget his mama or daddy...he wanted gramma love. so sweet!

back.

well, we're back in colorado. going to omaha was fantastic and we are equally excited to go to kansas for harvest...less than a week. promise there will be pictures soon, i just have to sort through the 200+ pics that were snapped throughout the week.

for now you can look at this picture of lane saying "ouch" (not really) but he did pop two new teeth yesterday. he just looks like his mouth hurts:(

weekend.

this past weekend, renee and tom came. we had a blast! we miss seeing them nearly everyday so we have been so excited to have them here. one of the best things about this weekend (for me) was that saying goodbye was MUCH easier knowing that we'll see them again on wednesday.

aunt renee got lane a new hat. he LOVES it! i think he just feels "cooler" in it. he has seriously worn it everyday almost all day, even in his pj's.

more birthday gifts! thanks for the awesome book and adorable clothes renee and tom. (the book is now in a safe place free some any drool)

alpine slides. fast equals fun. well...renee and i thought we were going fast.


we stopped and hiked around an open space and found that is was beautiful. where in colorado isn't beautiful? we all enjoyed the fresh air, gorgeous views, and wildlife...ducks and dogs.






red rocks...of what we could see. we may have been starring more at all the people there for a concert. ha.

it was such a fun filled weekend that left us all tired...


too much of a good thing is a good thing!
