on the 16th you turned FIVE!
13 days ago and i'm still refusing to believe it.
maybe if we just avoid it then it won't be true.
i woke you up on your birthday and had to stop myself from saying,
"happy birthday baby lane."
and so often i've said,
"ok, this is it kiddo, no older."
you know i'm joking, completely joking, but i wouldn't mind time slowing down just a bit!
you are as sweet as they come.
you are a miniature version of your dad,
no wonder i am so in love with you.
one of your best traits is still helping, always wanting to help.
one of your downfalls is being tired, all bets are off if you are sleepy.
you are so tall for your age, a full head above many friends.
your favorite food is pizza and strawberry milk.
you love to ride your bike (you got a new one for your birthday)
and dislike being told we have to go inside.
you know far more about everything than i realize
but still have yet to be introduced to superheroes, star wars, aliens, etc.
you sing constantly and brighten everyones days, often setting the mood for our mornings.
you love gage and play for hours on end,
he truly is your best friend.
we are so thankful you have each other.
at 5, you love jesus and are compassionate to others.
you are shy and giggly all at the same time.
you are tough, and sensitive too.
you are you and we love you.
all 5 big years of you.
birthday morning! also, his last day of school. such a fast year!
the night before we made birthday treats for his pals at school. a big marshmallow, dipped in wilton candy melt, & dipped in sprinkles. they were a hit!
for his birthday we went to sonic b/c we are classy like that.
i wanted one picture of these kiddos....
and we picked up a big new bike! woohoo!!
and ended the 16th with a beautiful reminder of God's promises.

Lane Brain, welcome to 5! The Brown crew loves you dearly and you share C C big brother Josh's birthday!!!
looks so much like his dad on the last day of school. If Shelby was around I wonder how long we would have actually said 'baby lane'. I think the last time she was here she still said it. ha. The last pictures looked like you better get home before the tornado hit.
Strawberry milk and pizza? Our boys could be twins!
