trim.

lane got his first haircut. it was time to cut off the back. it blew in the wind, hung over his shirts, and looked like a mullet.

yes...we're in the bathtub. it seemed like a logical place at the time.

easter.

we woke up (way too early) this morning to snow and upset stomachs. not the way i would have imgained lane's first easter. i had it all planned in my head to have his easter basket ready when we came downstairs to play with...that didn't happen...actually still hasn't. planned to have festive table decorations...that didn't happen either. but one thing i did realize on lane's first easter is just how important it is as being a parent...i truely can't imagine giving up my one and only for other people shortcomings, my shortcomings. what an amazing sacrafice! what an amazing day-that Christ DID rise again! he LIVES!

playing with 'peep' lights. lane's easter outfit was destroyed by a diaper. poor guy...

we eat carrot cake (and sprite) and he gets carrot mush. mmmm!

buddy boy.

we are so thankful!...lane has been sleeping good, great! he's back to sleeping through the night. it's only taken him 11 months but he finally figured out he can play himself to sleep. it's so sweet to hear himself talk and giggle one minute and then the next to look in and see him sound asleep. but, i must admit, i miss the hours of cuddling everynight. the other night he feel asleep while nursing in the evening and i was overcome with emotion looking down at our sweetbaby.

...notice the towels on the end of the crib? lane will seriously eat the crib if it isn't covered. any better ideas?

one day he started a new smile. it is SO funny! he tilts his head back and sticks out his bottom jaw and kinda shakes his head back and forth really fast. we laugh so hard at him everytime that now he does it to entertain us. here it is...kinda...haha.

this is why he is so addicting...



summer, oh where art thou summer?

lane's personality has really been coming out the past couple weeks. everyday he learning something new, doing something new. he is so into piling or organizing things. this barrel of monkeys...he pours them out, puts them back in the barrel, pulls them out, piles them one by one on the carpet, puts them back in the container, and continues till something better comes along. it is so funny to watch!

i read this quote the other day, not ever sure who originally said it, but i can't stop thinking about it...

comparison is the enemy of contentment and gratitude

what an amazing gift we have been given in GOD. HE is the ONLY truth we can count on. whenever i lean on my own mind/thoughts i get nowhere. in fact, i always feel worse.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Phil 4:8

i redirect my thinking to what is true -true by God's standards, not what i think of myself/life in moments of doubt - what is noble...God's WAY and WILL.

more good times.

grandpa & grandma reimer and uncle ryan came to colorado! we will never get sick of having family come visit. the best part of family being in town is watching them play with lane and seeing just how much love everyone has for him.

seriously, how many more toys can this kiddo have? plus, he also fell back in love with the bouncer. up and down, bouncy bounce, over and over.

of course...the kids (ryan, vance, celine) had to watch smallville. wouldn't be "us" if we didnt.
