blogging.

well, looks like i'm hear with the weekly blogging check-in. man, i have good intentions to keep this up.to.date but other things get in the way. (...like, for the past week i've been reading this book. the library finally had it on the shelf, i'm well on my way to finishing all 800 pages.) i'm ok with our blog though. it's never going to be the "cool" blog. i've had high hopes of posting recipes, d.i.y. projects, and super inspiring posts but lets get real, that takes some commitment. (maybe someday right?) our blog is a place for our families to see pictures of the boys and a place for me to "put" things that make me happy. so...yay to blogging!

((beware...this a looooong post!))

way back in june (!?) lane figured out the pedals on his bike. that opens up a whole new door of summer fun for him!
i love it when vance steals my camera and i don't realize it till i load pictures on the computer. here i'm sure they were looking at the firetrucks that we hear on a daily basis. their favorite!
we love summer nights!
way back when andrea and dj came for a visit to denver. we LOVED having them at our house. the boys did too, lane still talks about it.
everyday rain storms.
seriously, everyday.
we also had one super cute visitor and her parents. SO.MUCH.FUN having tom, renee, & penny in colorado. that little girl stole our hearts. she is such a sweet and EASY baby!!!

playing with uncle tom.

trying to get all 3 cousins...

gage looooves penny!

as did lane:)

the kids taking over the dinner table.

enjoying the humid free weather!

in boulder.
eating shaved ice. yum!
lane seriously loves crocs and was ultra fascinated by these ones.
pearl street, the best place to people watch.
the boys were diggin these hippies & their guitars.
cute penny feet.
sweetie.

the boys could have spent ALL DAY at the toy store playing with the train set. hint hint grandparents. (actually...no, where do we put something like that?!)
penny enjoying her first baby bjorn ride.
oh man, i got baby fever. (which is probably good considering in 4 months i'll be holding one of my own.) thanks for coming guys, we love you!!! be sure to check out their blog, renee took all sorts of pictures.
one of our favorite summer activities...church at the park. vance was sweet enough to take the boys down the big blow up slide.
ice cream!

lane giving one of his favorite little gals, sophia, a hug bye bye. her family lives right next door to us. one of the awesome things about our church is there are at least 8 families on our street that go there. such a great community!
another picture vance took of the boys when i wasn't around. loving the everyday rain showers. (sorry kansas, i feel bad saying that!)
i had to document this....they were both sitting. at the same time. by each other. that never happens!
more bounce houses at vance's company picnic.

snow cones. and yes i'm the mom that won't let my kids get syrup on it. they liked their "white" snow cones:)
lane getting his face painted. he requested a dog.
and it typical lane fashion, he froze around a stranger. he sat as still as can be.

oh gage. 17 months. you'd think i'd be used to him but nope, i still can't believe he's real. he amazes us everyday that he is becoming such a little boy.

it was that time of year again...making more laundry detergent. vance helped out so we made enough to last us a really, really long time.

making cookies with lane. some of my favorite moments. he just kept hugging and kissing me saying "i love making cookies with you mommy." MELT MY HEART! later that night i overheard him telling vance "mama's a good maker."...like, good at making food. he cracks us up.
i asked him to smile at the camera and this is the best i could get. much too excited about the cookie dough.
the boys playing with cars...something i never thought of myself enjoying. i mean, i was all baby dolls and barbies but these guys have me falling in love with all things boy.

the end.

i had to read through anna's comments so i didn't duplicate any of them.

1. gage is so small, but when he's next to penny he looks like he's 3 years old! he'll be shockingly bigger than the new babe when he/she arrives.

2. speaking of gage looking old, he's got a full mustache and goatee in one of those pics.

3. i kind of already told you this, but i can't WAIT to read Her Daughter's Dream. let me know if it has an ending....or i won't even start it!

4. WE had so much fun staying with you guys...TWICE! thanks for being so hospitable. dj kept saying over and over how he appreciated how clean your house was. (and how clean your guest bathroom shower head was...who knew anyone looks at that?)

5. i LOVE the excitement on lane's face about the cookie dough! "excited face!"

6. YES...come visit!

i love your everyday pics celine. they are so good. my everyday pics look like me accidentally taking a picture of owen's ear or a fly swatter or something like that because one kid knocked the camera when i was trying to photograph the other! eeks. thanks for sharing. you capture moments so well! penny and your boys look great and those shots of the storms in your 'hood should be entered into a contest!
